Back for a 2nd Year!

A RED WINES AGAIN!
OUR 2022 CHAMPION IS
CHATEAU LA PIROUETTE MEDOC!

Wine Madness is our bracket style game where customer-favorite wines face off against each other each week. We will have 3 rounds, starting with 8 wines in the first round. The matchups and winners will be announced over email each week so be sure to pay attention to your Wine Madness emails! The winner of each round will be determined by the sales of the wines from that week. Our managers and staffers will share their personal preferences for each round and try to sway your purchases!

You can try all the wines each round to see which one you like best or you can only buy your favorite so you ensure it moves onto the next round! The 2 wines end up in our CHAMPIONSHIP round will be based on your purchases. But our final winner will be decided with your actual vote - we will send a survey around for you to vote for your favorite and the 2022 Champion will be crowned on March 30th!

For information on all the wines, check this page regularly. We will update this information each round and include all of our team's recommendations for you.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH-UP

NEW ZEALAND
WHITE

Lisa's Favorite:

"Winemaker Judy Fowler of Puriri Hills in New Zealand makes elegant wines true to the natural characteristics of grape and terroir. Her Mokoroa Sauvignon Blanc has been a favorite of customers and ours for years. Its crisp, acidic taste mimics the cool maritime climate of the island with a flavor as deep and impactful as the red clay soils. The aromatics pinch the senses with the unique gooseberry and grassy signature style of a New Zealand white wine like no other. It's grace in a glass, made by a Virginia native."

U.S.A.
RED

Jeff's Favorite:

"The Timbre Opening Act, made by award-winning sommelier turned winemaker Joshua Klapper, is one of my favorite values in Pinot Noir. This is the seventh vintage that we've carried, starting from when Joshua was bottling under the "La Fenetre" label, (and was $2 more expensive) and the wines never fail to over deliver. Coming entirely from Mission Ranch, planted in 1961, in Monterrey's Arroyo Seco AVA and aged 15 months in neutral French oak it shows great depth and concentration with raspberry, blackberry, plum flavors with a touch of baking spices through the long, elegant finish."
